VR: Is This The End?

Something smells fishy in the Velvet Revolver camp, and it ain't Matt Sorum's boxers.
Frontman Scott Weiland has told fans of his previous band Stone Temple Pilots to prepare themselves for a reunion this year. And with Slash announcing that he wants to work on a solo album as soon as VR finish album number three it looks like the curtains could be closing on the world's most rock 'n' roll supergroup.
Velvet Revolver are planning to go into the studio in April to start work on their third album, which Slash is "really jazzed about." We assume that means he's excited, not that he's been listening to loads of Miles Davis to get inspired.
"I've been working on new ideas," says the Top-Hatted One, "and we've had a couple times where the guys all got together and worked on some stuff. I'm itching to see what this third record's gonna be, cause I think it's gonna be fuckin' awesome".
He then followed that up by announcing that he's planning a solo album once all that's done: "It's really in the back of my mind, but I haven't gotten the wheels in motion to get it produced. It'll be coming. Probably the next thing I do after the next Velvet Revolver record."
Stone Temple Pilots split in 2003, but at a solo gig in Florida last weekend Weiland reportedly said a reunion of some kind could happen in the next few months, which doesn't bode well for the rest of the Revolvers...
