Taking Back Sunday guitarist Fred Mascherino has decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career. Mascherino joined Taking Back Sunday in 2003 and appeared on the band’s gold-certified albums 'Louder Now' and 'Where You Want To Be.'
The Color Fred, Mascherino’s solo project, will release Bend To Break October 30th
Taking Back Sunday have just finished up the Projekt Revolution Tour with Warner Bros. Records label-mates Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and HIM. They have five new songs written and will return to the studio in the coming months to record the follow-up to Louder Now due out in 2008.
“We are sad to see Fred go,” says vocalist Adam Lazzara, “and we wish him well with his new project. As for Taking Back Sunday, we’re alive and well. We’ve started working on the new album and it feels really good.”
