RockStar 08 is a national competition backed by Michael Eavis (the creator of the Glastonbury Festival) and legendary artist and producer Peter Gabriel to find the UK’s hottest new talent.

The competition will bring together real, unsigned bands, musicians and solo artists and offer them opportunities to play live music at the epicentre of England’s hottest music scene.

The competition will kick off with 24 bands, chosen from those who enter by a highly qualified panel, including Michael Eavis, Peter Gabriel and a number of other music industry professionals, who will play their own music in four heats

The four heats will take place on 1st and 2nd August and 22nd and 23rd August. Once the judges have seen all 24 acts, they will pick six to go through to the final (5th September) where a winner will be chosen.

The heats and finals will take place at the famous Pilton Workings Men’s Club, a place synonymous with the Glastonbury Festival.

The winner of Rock Star 08 will win a live set at the one and only Equinox Party at Glastonbury, two days at Peter Gabriel’s recording studio working with the man himself and a chance to play in the unsigned bands tent at Glastonbury '09.
