Metallica spent yesterday (Thursday 31st July) shooting a video for new track The Day That Never Comes (see photos from Metallica.com)
The track will be the first to be featured from new album Death Magnetic, which is reportedly due in stores on 30th September.
Posting on their official website the band revealed: "Today we shot a video... nah, more like a short film really....for the first featured track from 'Death Magnetic'.
Directed by fellow Dane/filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg, we spent the better part of the afternoon playing 'The Day That Never Comes' to a sold-out crowd of dust and smoke just outside of Los Angeles, CA.... Should be ready to share with all of you at the end of the month, give or take...more to come."
In addition to CD and digital formats, Death Magnetic will also be available to download for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock the same day it goes on sale.
Various versions of the album are being released - from a digital-only release to a deluxe 'coffin box' with bonus CD, DVD, T-shirt and guitar picks.
Death Magnetic's official track listing is:
That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
Broken, Beat & Scarred
The Day That Never Comes
All Nightmare Long
The Unforgiven III
The Judas Kiss
Suicide & Redemption
