Grunge pioneer Chris Cornell is used to courting controversy - but his latest move is likely to have even his most hardcore fans scratching their heads.
The former Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman has teamed up with commercial airline Virgin America to make his back catalogue available as in-flight entertainment.
Starting in October the entire Virgin America airline fleet will play his latest LP 'Scream' and various other Cornell albums and videos while passengers are boarding.
"We are thrilled to partner with a music legend like Chris Cornell and to add such high caliber content to our in-flight entertainment library — the largest one in the domestic skies," said Dimitrios Papadogonas, VA's director of marketing.
Here's Chris playing an acoustic version of his latest single 'Scream'. Just close your eyes and imagine you're sipping champagne 50,000ft over the Atlantic...
Look out for our upcoming issue (TG194 on sale 5 Oct) for our exclusive interview with Mr Cornell on acoustic songwriting!
