About the role
As Total Guitar’s Reviews Editor you will have sole responsibility for writing and commissioning all the kit reviews for Europe’s best selling guitar magazine. Can you lead the nation in their purchasing choices and act as the main point of contact for everything kit related in TG?
Heading up the reviews section for Total Guitar means utilitising your product knowledge and established network of industry contacts to get the best reviews first and have an understanding what our readers really want to know about.
As well as writing reviews, you’ll be responsible for developing appropriate layout solutions, planning, writing, commissioning, managing copy deadlines and providing direction to the Art Editor to ensure the product is photographed appropriately.
You will need to continue to build effective relationships within the industry and will be ready to attend events, as well as keeping up with all the latest guitar developments, to secure exclusive reviews and news.
You will have a demonstrable passion for and knowledge of guitars as well as a good understanding of emerging trends. Excellent industry contacts would be an advantage. With a detailed knowledge of the workings of guitars you will have the technical ability and know-how to be able to perform in-depth product tests and will be confident to review any equipment in detail. You will be keen and passionate about immersing yourself in reviewing kit and providing the readers with an honest, practical and detailed review. Editorial experience is not essential.
