Kasabian's Ian Matthews to host ICMP Masterclass

2nd Oct 2008 | 16:21

Kasabian big hitter Ian Matthews will be taking time out from completing his latest album to deliver an exclusive Institute masterclass. Ian’s diverse musical background began from the age of four, spanning from Jazz to orchestral music, noted to be one of the reasons it was so easy for him to step into the music world of British rockers Kasabian.

After forming in 1999, by 2000 Kasabian had already taken Britain by storm with their infectious blend of Primal Scream-Stone Roses-Oasis-injected music. Their eponymous 2004 debut shifted 700,000 copies in the UK alone and their success since then has simply rocketed. With a unique confidence and vocal style synonymous with the bands of the ‘Madchester’ scene, Kasabian have gone on to win awards nothing short of NME’s Best Live Act award and are currently putting the finishing touches to their much anticipated third album, slated for release by the end of this year.

If you never associated passion and dynamism with the average indie rock musician, then think again, as the Ian Matthews masterclass promises to deliver just that.

This unmissable event takes place on Thursday 23 October from 7-9pm.
