Job Vacancy - Ensemble Bash

19th Dec 2007 | 12:58

Ensemble Bash are on the search for a new member to join the current line-up of Chris Brannick, Joby Burgess and Stephen Hiscock. This comes as a result of the departure of percussionist Andrew Martin, who leaves the group after 15 years.

With the music of West Africa as a guiding spiritual influence, the group has performed throughout the world mixing contemporary, classical, theatrical, jazz and traditional African music.

Ensemble Bash has commissioned a breadth of composers including Graham Fitkin, Michael Daugherty, Nitin Sawhney, Orphy Robinson, Howard Skempton, David Bedford, Stephen Montague, Keith Tippett, Nick Hayes; and collaborated with artists including Joanna MacGregor, Django Bates, The Hilliard Ensemble, Chick Corea, The Pan African Orchestra, The National
Dance Company of Ghana and Steve Reich, who joined us as the fifth player in a performance of his Music for Pieces of Wood as part of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 1998.

Ensemble Bash has recorded eight albums including Stewart Copeland’s 2006 Grammy Nominated Orchestralli and their recently released collaboration FiddleSticks on Signum classics.

Auditions will take place in January 2008.
