Doug Clifford has poured cold water on rumours of a Creedence Clearwater Revival reunion.

The drummer reacted to reports that Creedence frontman John Fogerty may be open to the idea of working with drummer Clifford and bassist Stu Cook.

Clifford told Uncut magazine: "It might have been a nice idea 20 years ago, but it's too late."

Creedence split in 1972, with Fogerty refusing to reform the group for their 1993 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction.
