Yes, you read right. Blink 182, the pop punk band featuring drumming chameleon and celebrity extraordinaire Travis Barker, have announced that they have reformed, and word is that they will record a new album and tour this year.The band parted company back in 2004 due to building tension between Travis and bass player Mark Hoppus, and guitarist Tom DeLonge but, since Travis' plane crash last year all three have crossed paths once again, built bridges and the announcement was made at last night's Grammy awards that they were working together once again.A statement on the band's official website reads thus:'Hi. We’re blink-182. This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.”The band leave things with the words “Summer 2009. Thanks and get ready…'Watch this space for further news.
