FL Studio creator offers new additive monster
Ogun is a new synth from Image Line, creators of FL Studio. Based on an additive engine, this is said to be capable of producing "rich metallic and shimmering timbres".
Available as a VST instrument or native FL Studio plug-in, Ogun offers harmonic randomisation and timbre analysis (resynthesis, in other words). Tones can be shaped using multiopoint envelopes, while there's also a Unison engine and an XY pad.
The effects section contains filter, chorus, delay, reverb and EQ processors.
Ogun's full price is $79, but if you place an order in Image Line's online store before September 15, you'll get it for free. There's an extra incentive to buy at the moment because the company is currently holding a 'yardsale', with existing products being available at a 40% discount.
