8-Bit Jesus: the chip-tune Christmas album

Give the gift of bleepy festive classics

Before you dash down to the shops to pick up your copy of Now That's What I Call Christmas, allow us to point you in the direction of an alternative festive album.

8-Bit Jesus is a collection of chip-tune Christmas songs, and is perfect for anyone who wants a holiday season soundtrack that could have been produced on an old Nintendo games console.

"I've been working on a new album for the past few months and am releasing a free MP3 download of the first half," says creator Doctor Octoroc. "This contains nine tracks thus far. Each one is a chip-tune version ofa classicChristmas song done in the style of a different NES game."

We like the good Doctor's thinking, though with titles such as We Three Konami, Ryu The Red Nosed Ninja and Super Jingle Bros, we think his punning skills might need a bit of work.

You can listen to the songs individually or download them all together on Doctor Octoroc's website.
