Director confirms track New Moon at Comic-Con
New Moon is the sequel to the movie Twilight, and it's also the name of the new song Radiohead's Thom Yorke has written for the upcoming sure-fire smash.
Director Chris Weitz, an avowed Radiohead fan, confirmed Yorke's contribution while appearing at the Comic-Con convention in San Diego, California.
"I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love," Weitz said.
The director added that he hadn't yet heard Yorke's composition (he's expected to sometime today, in fact), but that, "unless it's sounds of him belching, I think I'll put it in."
Yorke's involvement with the Twilight sequel is seen as crucial by many fans of the original movie, as Radiohead's 15 Step played over that film's closing credits. (On the other hand, some diehard Radiohead fans disagree - strongly.)
Other artists confirmed for New Moon's soundtrack are Bon Iver and Band Of Skulls. Weitz said that he is still "hoping to get Kings Of Leon" on board.
