582 drummers raise over £50k for charity
PRESS RELEASE: Professional Music Technology pick up the award for "Best Music Retailer" for the fourth year running. The award was presented to the company at the MIA Awards in London last week.
PMT utilise a committed, well trained, and dedicated workforce that shares a personal and active relationship with its customers and community...which is why they have won the 'Best Music Retailer chain' for four years running from 2006 to 2009.
Now with EIGHT superstores across the UK, PMT are going from strength to strength providing more and more for the music instrument retail and educational needs of the market. They focus on service, quality products, technology and prices that provide quality solutions for the musical needs of their customers, across any level of their musical careers.
"PMT have once again shown their metal in giving the customers exciting and well presented shops with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The MIA is proud to have PMT as members and we send them all congratulations on their latest MIA Award!" - Paul McManus Chief Executive MIA.
But that's not the only achievement for PMT this year. They sponsored the 'Stick it to MS' world record breaking drum attempt at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena, raising over £50,000 for the MS Society.
A total of 582 drummers - including a number of celebrity musicians - smashed the previous world record of 533 drummers, set in the United States.
The charity event, called Stick It To MS, has so far raised over £50,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Drummers as young as five and as old as 50 travelled from across the UK to take part in the record bid, believed to be the UK's first attempt.
A number of special guest drummers joined in, including Slade's Don Powell and Cold Feet and Coronation Street actor John Thomson.
