Maroon 5, Gomez and Phantom Planet convene
Various members of Maroon 5, Gomez, Phantom Planet and a few other bands have formed a 'supergroup' of massive proportions: there are 14 of them and they're calling themselves Operation Aloha.
The 14-strong crew took 30 days out of their busy touring schedules and album commitments to convene on the island of Maui and record an album inspired by the "tranquillity, freedom and spirit of Hawaii." They lived in tree houses during their stay. Probably to instil this inspiration into their psyches even further.
A self-titled album is planned for a 12 May release. Here's Operation Aloha's membership in full:
James Valentine (Maroon 5)
Jesse Carmichael (Maroon 5)
Dajon Everett (Gomez)
Ian Ball (Gomez)
Olly Peacock (Gomez)
Sam Farrar (Phantom Planet)
Christopher Wray-McCann (Photographer)
Fil Krohnengold (All Spots To Black)
Nadav Kahn (Kahn Brothers)
