Iconic heavy metal pickup updated
Metallica, Slayer, Trivium, Zakk Wylde, Deftones, Judas Priest, Killswitch Engage... the list of metal and heavy rock guitarists who rely on active EMG 81 pickups for sledgehammer crunch and searing lead attack goes on and on.
The company's highest output pickup was originally developed way back in 1979. Now the original's plucky young offspring is entering the metal stage with a new twist on the classic design.
The new EMG 81TW aims to take that reputation for top class high gain performance and add more versatility - namely single-coil sounds.
In addition to the famed EMG-81 dual coil sound, the new model features dual active preamps and the new single coil sounds can be selected via the included push/pull pot.
The pickup will also come with EMG's Quik-Connect cable, output jack, battery clip set, screws and springs.
A comparatively Noiseless performance in both modes will be ensured via EMG's triple coil arrangement.
