New guitars include Slash and Steve Jones models
Gibson Custom showcased 15 new models at NAMM 2008, including several signature and 'Inspired-By' models that pay homage to some of history's most iconic guitarists, including Slash and Steve Jones.
The new models include:
Steve Jones Les Paul Custom
A tribute to the Sex Pistols guitar-man's white '70s Les Paul Custom,
Slash #1 Les Paul Standard aged and signed
An addition to Gibson Custom's 'Inspired-By' series, this Les Paul Standard is a faithful recreation of the number 1 LP Slash used during his rise to fame with Guns N' Roses.
Lee Ritenour ES-335
A recreation of Grammy-winning jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour's original ES-355.
Jimmy Page Les Paul Custom with Bigsby
A recreation of Page's famed Black Beauty '60s Les Paul Custom featuring three humbuckers and a Bigsby vibrato.
Other custom guitars on show included the Mick Jones (of Foreigner) Les Paul Custom, the Alex Lifeson ES-355 VOS model and the signature Johnny Winter Firebird V.
Prices, availability and release dates have not yet been announced, but the ageing was very impressive on the models on display on Gibson's stand at the show.
More info is promised soon on Gibson's official website.
