"Burping electronics, neighing horses, clipping toenails"
Parts & Labor are a Brooklyn-based group of noise-making musicians who just released an album called Receiver, which - along with the usual guitars, drums and vocals - is made up of hundreds of fan-made samples.
The band asked fans to submit sound clips under 10 seconds in length, which included "burping electronics, neighing horses, counting babies, washing machines, clipping toenails" and "mushrooms clouding."
You can hear some of the fruits of their 'Labor' here. Don't be fooled by the relatively clean-sounding single, Nowheres Nigh, there's definitely one or two 'burping washing machines' further down.
For our US readers, Parts & Labor have also set up a toll free number (888 317 5596) on which they'll be recording phone messages for use in their next live set. Should be interesting…
