The Crying Light set for January 2009 release
Rumours of Antony And The Johnsons' third album have been doing the rounds for the past year, but the band have finally released some concrete details. The Crying Light is all set for release on 20 January 2009, and marks a hugely-anticipated follow-up to 2005's Mercury Music Prize-winning I Am A Bird Now.
Antony Hegarty returns as songwriter-in-chief, while composer Nico Muhly handles arrangements.
One new song, Another World, was the title track of last month's EP and sounds very much like previous 'emotional' recordings. Rather than focus on a negative - failure to change musical direction - however, we'll call it a return to form. Fans will rejoice…
