U2: The Streets Have A Name
4th Mar 2009 | 12:18
Irish- rockers U2 have had the ultimate honour: having a street named after them. Part of New York’s W53rd route has been renamed – at least for now – ‘U2 Way’ by mayor Michael Bloomberg.
U2 vocalist Bono told MTV News: “ "New York is a place that people come to [and] feel at home. And we truly do feel at home here in New York.”
Of course, back in 2004, Aussie rockers AC/DC were granted a similar honour in Melbourne, although AC/DC Lane is now reported to be littered with empty bottle and used dunkies (well, possibly not)...
Who else should have a thoroughfare named after them?
Tom Robinson 2-4-6-8 Motorway Way? Randy Rhoades Road? Keith Moon Crescent?
