Trace Acoustic set to return
4th Apr 2007 | 09:20
A prototype Trace Acoustic 100 combo shown at the recent Frankfurt Musikmesse leads a second generation of Trace Acoustic amps, likely to be ready for an autumn launch. Still recognisably Trace and using Dynamic Correction circuitry, the amp incorporates many upgraded features that will be common across the range. These include footswitchable shape, phase, system mute and 6dB soloing boost, notching on each channel, a feedback-locating six-band master graphic EQ, and master volume with auto distortion suppression. A soft-knee auto-compressor is also built in. Digital FX include user-definable tap tempo delays and allow separate reverb levels to be applied to each channel.
All the amps, which have back-lit control panels and a non-scratch polyurea cabinet finish, will be stereo and, apart from the 100W 2 x 5 TA100, will comprise the 200W 4 x 5 TA200, 220W 2 x 5 + 1 x 12 TA220 and the 400W 4 x 5 + 2 x 12 TA400. No prices have been announced, not least because country of manufacture has yet to be decided.
