NAMM 2007 Highlights: Fender Teles

The ’52 Tele reissue has seen one of the most-eagerly awaiting upgrades with the introduction of the Hot Rod ’52 Tele. The main new feature is the provision of a Seymour Duncan SM-1 Vintage mini-humbucker in the neck position to go alongside the Custom Vintage Tele bridge single-coil.
Available in just butterscotch blonde, which suits us, the premium ash body is finished in thin-skin nitrocellulose lacquer and, with a soft U-shape to the maple neck, this is going to be a great player.
At the other end of the scale is the new John 5 Triple Tele Deluxe, which features three high-output Enforcer wide-range humbuckers, a shoulder-mounted toggle switch and an American Vintage Synchronized vibrato. There’s also the moody black finish, F-tuners and chrome scratchplate.
