And Nashville’s Epiphone has evidently been busy too, judging by the variety in its new product line-up. Ready? The eyecatching Les Paul Studio Chameleon is bound to get you noticed: its ‘flip-paint’ finish changes colour depending on viewing angle and light, and is available in Blue/Green, Bronze/Salmon and Silver/Blue. There are new, more traditional finish options too, in Arctic Blue, Worn Brown or Worn Cherry.

Extreme guitar players will welcome the return of the ebony EM-1 model. A double cutaway body made from premium alder and a ‘SpeedTaper’ satin-finish maple neck combine with open-coil 700T/650R humbuckers - “mean” and “mental”, say the makers.

The Nick Valensi Riviera P94 features the same semi-hollow styling as Valensi’s previous Epiphone signature, the Elitist range Riviera. The Nikki Sixx Blackbird bass adds to the company’s signature range.

The SST Studio electro-acoustic features a mahogany body, computer-designed sound chambers, active Shadow preamp and NanoFlex pick-up, designed to come up with an acoustic sound for any occasion (two SST Classics offer a revolutionary solidbody design for classical applications).

Other electro-acoustic models include the maple-topped Performer ME or spruce-topped SE, both packing eSonic2 stereo preamps. And for bass players, the El-Segundo-IV promises heavyweight performance from its advanced jumbo body and undersaddle piezo. The company’s top-selling Masterbilt AJ-500M and DR-500M now come with gloss finish.

Finally, the company is offering two gear-stuffed performance packs for budding guitarists and bass players alike.
