Slipknot's new album will be called All Hope Is Gone and will see a release on 25 August following the band's appearances at the Leeds and Reading festivals on 22 and 24 August respectively.

The album's title track will be avilable as a free download tomorrow from the href="http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com">Roadrunner Records website. The album's first official ‘single’ Psychosocial will be released digitally on 30 June.

So what does the album sound like? Apparently a cross between their second album (2001's Iowa) and the more experimental and melodic Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses (2004).

"Every album we have made is a statement about that space in time," says frontman Corey Taylor. "I think this era is the most mature, most beautiful and the most powerful. We have made an album that will show the road behind, the road ahead, and where we are as men. I think it's the best thing I've ever made. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong."
