Are You Experienced? Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson and more in Hendrix tribute tour

Not a day goes by without Jimi Hendrix's name coming up somewhere in guitar news but this interesting development caught our eye…
A five-week long US tour has been announced to celebrate Jimi's music. It's organised by Experience Hendrix – the Hendrix family-owned company – and follows last year's successful seven date run.
The Experience Hendrix Tour this year will feature an impressive list of performers: blues wizard Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, Cesar Rosas and David Hidalgo of Los Lobos plus Aerosmith's Brad Whitford are all set to appear.
Original Hendrix band members Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox are also reported to be taking part.
Bassist Cox said, "It's a thrill for me to play Jimi's music for audiences now as it was in the early 1960s. The Experience Hendrix tours have shown how timeless this music really is."
And there's more: 'special guests' will be popping up on the tour – The Doors' Bobby Krieger will appear on five dates and Hubert Sumlin is also reported to be performing.
Musicians will team up in various combinations to perform Hendrix classic including Purple Haze, Hey Joe and Red House.
If you can get over to the US this Autumn then this could be well worth seeing. And it doesn't look like it's coming to the UK anytime soon.
