A Perfect Circle guitarist announces long awaited solo project

Lead guitarist and songwriter Billy Howerdel — founder and producer of A Perfect Circle — is launching a solo project called Ashes Divide. And this time he's taking on the role of lead singer too.
Howerdel has just signed to Island Records and the long awaited album – title yet to be revealed– will be released in March next year.
He produced and engineered the new album himself in Los Angeles. He played all guitar, bass, and keyboard parts, and was joined by APC drummer Josh Freese. The album was mixed by Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, The Killers) in the UK.
Howerdel has gained a great deal of experience with all things guitar through the years – both and onstage and behind the scenes. He's been a guitar technician for many artists, including David Bowie, Guns N' Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins and Tool. Howerdel formed A Perfect Circle with the latter's singer, James Maynard Keenan, releasing two acclaimed studio albums and a covers collection.
