If you’ve ever bothered your neighbours by blaring beats at unsociable hours you might find that your obnoxious emissions have been recorded for all to see. The UK’s Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has launched a website that allows users to check noise levels by postcode.

23 areas including London, Manchester and Sheffield are covered by the service, which Defra hopes will help tackle “unreasonable noise pollution”. The noise mapping took place during 2006 and 2007, so to find out how audible you were during that period check out the site here.
